Chef Omar Agostini, originating from Abruzzo in central Italy, has traveled the world as a renowned Italian Chef working with some of the biggest names in the industry.

He begins his journey in one of the best Hotel Schools in Italy, where he develops a passion for the art of fine-dining. He launches his career first in Germany, then in Italy and in 1998, London, at the Halkin Hotel, London (Como hotels) where he collaborates with Gualtiero Marchesi’s student, and Michelin star Chef, Stefano Cavallini.

From London, his voyage continues as Private Chef to Donatella Versace, Bruce Willis, and Demi Moore in the Turks and Caicos Islands at Parrot Cay. Each experience led him further into his career, working with renowned Michelin Chefs such as Alain Ducasse (11 years in Alain Ducasse group), Helene Darroze, Marco Torri, Marco Pierre White, Didier Elena and Marco Sacco, Martín Berasategui and Best Hotels and Restaurant groups in London As Connaught Hotel, Sanderson Hotel plus A to Z group (Giorgio Locatelli & Gordon Ramsey, Camel)

In 2007, his travels and extensive experience won him the honor of the “Golden Talent” Award. Moving forward, he went homebound to Italy, where he brings his passion to the 1 Michelin Star restaurant at Trattoria Toscana by Alain Ducasse, l’Andana Tenuta la Badiola in Tuscany, Plus the after Gualtiero Marchesi at l’Albereta Relais Chateaux in Erbusco.

In 2014, Chef Omar set sail for the Far East to settle in Hong Kong, where he begins by working at the well-known Gaia Group as consulting for Marco Sacco (2 Michelin star) Finally, he brings his years of expertise to Gia Trattoria, wielding his culinary knowledge to create the authentic Italian dishes that are so revered in Hong Kong. In alongside the respected Chef Gianni Caprioli (worked with Vissani “2 Michelin star “and Gianni Agnelli) they are now leading the Italian culinary scene in Hong Kong, providing the best of the Italian culture.

Chef Omar has also divulged his passion for cooking through a non-profit trademark brand, Clandestino Hong Kong, where he shares with the Hong Kong digital platform his food and Italian lifestyle.
